Features

The full feature list

What Clear Saga does for a Shopify store and for any website, with every status word checked against the build.

Attribution

Three models, one count

Choose which page views earn each order. The orders and their total stay the same under every model; only the credit moves.

  • Last touch

    Starting choice

The last page view before the payment earns the order: the page and source that closed the sale.

    1. /products/linen-shirt$0
    2. /collections/new-arrivals$0
    3. /cart$120
  • First touch

The first page view of the journey earns the order: the page and source that brought the shopper in.

    1. /products/linen-shirt$120
    2. /collections/new-arrivals$0
    3. /cart$0
  • Linear

Every page view of the journey earns an equal part, so each step on the way to the order gets its share.

    1. /products/linen-shirt$40
    2. /collections/new-arrivals$40
    3. /cart$40

Pick one in the attribution menu on the Revenue page. A change applies to every past order at once, and credit is always the order's gross amount. The drawings show one sample $120 order.

Before and after bot filtering

Layered checks keep crawlers and headless browsers out of your totals and your allowance.

Bots report

See how many requests were turned away, on a tab of their own.

Sample data.

  • Bot filtering

Layered checks keep crawlers and headless browsers out of your totals and your allowance.

  • Bots report

See how many requests were turned away, on a tab of their own.

  • Exclusions

Leave out your own visits, staging hosts and the paths you do not want counted.

  • Single-page apps

Moving between routes is recorded as a pageview, with no extra code.

  • 404 tracking

List the broken links people hit, such as a product you took down, so you can fix or redirect them.

  • Subdomains and hostnames

Use one site key across subdomains and split the numbers by hostname.

  • Hash routes

Opt in to treat the part after the # as part of the page path.

Dashboard

The dashboard

Headline numbers, one chart and a grid of ranked cards. Click any row and the rest of the page follows.

Sample data.

  • Headline numbers

Visitors, visits, views, bounce rate, session time and conversion rate, plus revenue and revenue per visitor once orders arrive, each with its change against the period before.

  • Pages

Top, entry and exit pages. Top and entry pages also show the revenue they led to.

  • Sources

Referrers, channels, AI assistants and hostnames, side by side.

  • Locations and devices

Countries, regions, cities, browsers, operating systems and device types.

  • Segment filters

Click a row to filter everything by it. Stack filters, choose "is not" or "contains" when you need them, and remove each one as a chip.

  • Saved segments

Save a set of filters under a name, such as phone visitors from Instagram, and apply it again in one click.

  • Date ranges and comparison

Preset and custom ranges, compared against an earlier period when you want context.

  • Chart notes

Pin a note to a date so a spike explains itself later.

  • Realtime

People browsing at this moment, on a map, with a rolling activity feed.

  • Live visitor card

Open any live visit to see its place, device, source and pages, and how often visitors like this one convert compared with your average. Where Shopify orders are linked to visits, the card also shows an estimated value for a visit like this one.

  • All sites at once

Combined numbers for every site in the workspace, ranked by traffic.

  • Light and dark

Light by default. Switch to dark, or follow your system setting.

Outcomes

Goals and revenue

Events, goals, funnels and campaigns show what people did. Revenue shows what it was worth.

Sample data.

  • Custom events

Record add to carts, email sign-ups and clicks alongside your pageviews.

  • Activity log and Insights

Read every event as it arrives, then see which ones are trending up.

  • Conversion goals

Mark a page or an event as a goal, such as Added to cart, and compare conversion across sources and campaigns.

  • Funnels

Chain pages and events into steps, such as a product page, Added to cart and Started checkout, and see the drop-off between each.

  • Campaigns and link builder

Compare campaigns by visitors, conversions and revenue, and build tagged links that stay consistent.

  • Goal and funnel alerts

Get a signed webhook when a goal or a funnel falls below, or rises above, a number you choose over the last day or week. Checked about once an hour.

  • Revenue and attribution

Gross, refunds and net in your store's currency, credited to the landing page, converting page and source behind each order. Shopify stores connect in a few minutes.

  • More payment providersComing soon

Stripe, Paddle and the others are next. Shopify orders arrive today.

Privacy and data

Your data stays yours

Clear Saga stores as little as it can about your shoppers, never sells it, and lets you take your numbers with you.

  • Cookieless by default

No cookies and no fingerprinting are used to count a visit. Remember returning visitors is a per-site switch, off until you turn it on, and it uses one cookie.

  • Daily rotating identifier

Visits are counted under a one-way hash that changes every day. Only two switches link more, and both are off until you turn them on: returning visitors, and Match sales to ads, which gives one buyer's Shopify orders the same private key.

  • Returning visitors, if you choose

Switch it on for a site and visitors who agree are remembered with one cookie: total visits, new and returning visitors, and each visitor's journey. On a Shopify store the cookie can follow your cookie banner through Shopify's Customer Privacy API. A profile holds no name and no email, only a random id.

  • No stored IP addresses

The address is used in passing for location and bot checks, then dropped.

  • No emails or customer IDs

A Shopify order keeps no name, email, phone or address. With Match sales to ads on, it keeps a private customer key instead: a keyed hash, never the email or customer ID.

  • Automatic retention

Pageviews, events, visits and web vitals are deleted after 3 years. Orders and refunds are deleted after 3 years. A remembered visitor's profile is deleted 13 months after the last visit.

  • CSV export

Download a site's pageviews and custom events as a CSV file, for a recent period or for everything.

  • Import your historyComing soon

Bring past numbers over from another analytics tool.

  • Browser privacy signals

Nothing is recorded for a browser that sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Speed and search

Page speed

Core Web Vitals collected from real page loads, with the weakest pages listed first.

Sample data.

  • Core Web Vitals

Loading, responsiveness and layout shift at the median and the slow end, each with a plain status.

  • Needs attention

Pages with the weakest scores, ranked once they have enough samples.

  • By device and country

See whether a slowdown is everyone's problem or one browser's.

  • Search keywordsComing soon

The search terms that bring people in, with clicks and average position, next to your own numbers.

Teams and sharing

Sharing and teams

Invite people, hand a client a read-only link, put a live card on your own site, or connect your own tools and agents.

Sample data.

  • Workspaces and roles

Invite teammates with their own sign-in and the right level of access.

  • Shared dashboards

Create a read-only link to one site for a client or a colleague.

  • Public demo

A sample Shopify store anyone can explore without an account.

  • Up to 30 sites

Run every store and site from one workspace.

  • Usage meter

This month's event count against your allowance, always in view. The meter turns amber at 75 percent. At 100 percent the dashboards lock for the rest of the month while visits keep being counted.

  • Embed widgets

Put a live visitor chart or a realtime count on your own website with two lines of code. Switched on in a site's sharing settings.

  • Public API

Read every report and manage funnels, goals, campaign links, notes, segments and alert rules from your own code, with a workspace token.

  • MCP server for AI agents

Connect Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Codex to your numbers and ask in plain language. The Claude and ChatGPT apps need a one-click sign-in that is not ready yet.

  • Command lineComing soon

Every operation as a terminal command, for scripts and quick questions. It is not on npm yet.

  • Traffic alertsPreview

A notice when traffic jumps well above normal or drops away.

  • Weekly digest and monthly reportPreview

A short summary per site: traffic, top pages, sources and revenue.

The foundation

Your tracking tag

One tag in your theme records every pageview by itself, and add to carts or sign-ups with one attribute on a button. Attribution, funnels, goals and realtime are all built on what it sends.

index.html
<script
  defer
  data-site-key="YOUR_SITE_KEY"
  src="https://clearsaga.com/js/script.js"
></script>
  • A pageview on the Realtime page within seconds
  • Bots filtered before they count
  • The 15-day trial starts at the first pageview

Questions

Attribution, answered

What store owners ask before they trust a new number.

Each ad platform counts the sales it believes it caused, with its own rules and time windows, and some count people who only saw an ad. Added together they can claim more sales than your store had. Clear Saga starts from the paid orders your store actually received, so its total is your store's total.

An ad platform sees its own ads and gives itself the credit. Clear Saga sees every visit your tag records, whether it came from an ad, an email, a search, a social post or a shared link, and splits each order between them with one set of rules. Ad spend from Meta, Google and Amazon Ads is coming soon, to sit beside those orders.

Three. Last touch, the starting choice, credits the last page view before the payment. First touch credits the first page view of the journey. Linear splits the order equally between every page view of the journey. A journey is the shopper's pages on the day they bought; with Remember returning visitors on and the shopper's consent, it also reaches earlier visits inside the lookback window.

The tag works on any website, so visits, sources, campaigns, goals and funnels work everywhere. Orders come from Shopify today. Stripe and the other payment providers listed under Settings, Integrations cannot be connected yet.

It is built to collect little. No IP address is stored, orders keep no email or customer ID, and the tag sets no cookie unless you turn on Remember returning visitors, which can follow your store's cookie banner. Whether your store complies still depends on the rest of your site and the law where your shoppers live, and your privacy notice is yours to keep. There is no data processing agreement to sign yet. This is information, not legal advice.

Paste one tag into theme.liquid, create two webhooks in your Shopify admin, and paste their signing secret into Clear Saga. It takes a few minutes, nothing is installed in Shopify, you hand over no password, and the 15-day trial starts at your first pageview.

Your analyst

Ask your store anything

Bring your own AI. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Codex reads the same numbers as your dashboard through MCP. A Read token can look but not change anything, and no token can touch your store or your ads.
